School Bus Rock – Van Halen

Van Halen had so many hits that they deserve their own playlist.

There are two main versions of Van Halen. The first started with David Lee Roth on main vocals. The second was when Roth was replace with Sammy Hagar. Many of us still jokingly refer to that version of the band as Van Hagar. There were a couple other singers that became involved in Van Halen, but they did not have the impact Roth or Hagar did.

David Lee Roth

David Lee Roth left Van Halen and went the solo route. He was able to produce several big hits during that time. Roth, while being an extremely flamboyant frontman, is also someone who likes to give back to the community. He is a licensed emergency medical technician and worked on ambulances for a period of time in New York.

Sammy Hagar

Sammy Hagar is not the flamboyant type, but he is certainly outgoing. He helped Van Halen develop quite a different sound. Sammy used to be with the band Montrose. He was a solo artist when he was tapped to be part of Van Halen.
