School Bus Rock – Enya
This playlist is dedicated to Enya, a Celtic musician/singer. Her music can be quite soothing and relaxing. When I worked in the software industry I would listen to music on headphones. It helped me think and concentrate on what I was doing. Enya’s music was quite helpful in this way.
NOTABLE TRACKS
May It Be
May It Be was written for The Fellowship of The Ring, the first Lord of the Rings movie from Peter Jackson’s LOTR trilogy. Howard Shore, the man behind the LOTR music score, wanted Enya to write a piece of music for the closing credits. I had started listening to Enya less than a year before it was announced she part of the movie. Based on my limited exposure to her music I knew she was a perfect for the project. I went to the premiere showing of the movie and many of us sat through the credits just to listen to Enya’s song! As a side note, I can add that Howard Shore is a Canadian who used to be part of the Canadian band Lighthouse.
Orinico Flow
This track got a lot of airplay on rock radio stations in the late 80s. It is because of this that I came to know about Enya. Years later, when I actually got to stand on the banks of the Orinoco River I couldn’t help but think of this song!
